Local Device Data

The app stores the following information locally on your device:

• Contact information you choose to add to Close (names, phone numbers, email addresses)
• Contact frequency preferences and scheduling settings
• Personal notes you add to contacts
• Last contacted dates and reminder schedules
• App preferences and settings

Device Permissions

Close requests the following permissions:

• Contacts Access: To import and sync with your device's contact list
• Notifications: To send you reminders about staying in touch

You can revoke these permissions at any time through your device's Settings app.

2. How We Use Your Information

Since we don't collect any personal information, there is no data to use, share, or sell. All functionality happens locally on your device:

• Contact management and scheduling
• Notification reminders
• Integration with your device's calling and messaging apps
• App functionality and user experience

3. Data Storage and Security

All your data is stored locally on your device using Apple's secure data storage systems:

• SwiftData: Your contact information and app data are stored using Apple's SwiftData framework
• iOS Keychain: Sensitive data is protected using iOS security features
• Device Encryption: Your data benefits from your device's built-in encryption

We do not have access to your data, and it never leaves your device unless you explicitly share it through your device's native sharing features.

4. Third-Party Services

Close integrates with the following iOS system services:

• Contacts Framework: To access your device's contact list
• UserNotifications Framework: To send local notifications
• Phone App: To initiate calls when you tap notification actions
• Messages App: To initiate text messages when you tap notification actions

These integrations happen entirely on your device and do not involve any third-party servers or data transmission.

5. Data Sharing

We do not share, sell, or transmit your personal information to any third parties because we don't collect it in the first place. Your data remains private and secure on your device.

6. Data Retention

Your data is stored locally on your device for as long as you have the app installed. When you delete the app, all associated data is removed from your device.

7. Children's Privacy

Close is not intended for children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us.
